First 5 Madera County | Child Development

As a parent, there is nothing more exciting than to see your child take their first step, hear their first word, or wave “bye bye” for the first time. In addition to being exciting times, these are also important developmental milestones for your child. Developmental screenings uses these healthy milestones to help identify your child’s strengths as well as any areas that your child may need further support on.

First 5 Madera County offers free developmental screenings for children 0-5 at our First 5 Family Resource Centers. By bringing your child in for a screening, you will get more information on what to expect as your child grows and will learn about activities you can do together to strengthen development. After the screening, each child will receive a FREE age appropriate book to take home.
